CONDITIONAL, SITE BY SITE

Explore number-plate access for your property.

Number-plate access recognises a vehicle by its plate rather than a card or device. What's currently supported, and whether it suits your lane, is confirmed per project rather than offered from a fixed catalogue.

Availability and configuration are confirmed for your specific project, not guaranteed for every site.

THE GENERAL CONCEPT

From a captured plate
to a decision at the lane.

The equipment involved and the exact configuration depend on what's confirmed for your site, but this is the general shape of how it works.

  1. A camera captures the plate.

A camera positioned at the lane captures an image of the vehicle's number plate as it approaches.

  2. It's checked against vehicle records.

The captured plate is checked against the vehicle records held for your property.

  3. Connected equipment responds.

Depending on your configuration, a matched result can be used to open a connected barrier or notify your guardhouse.

CONDITIONS THAT MATTER

Site factors we
assess before proposing anything.

These conditions influence whether number-plate access is a good fit for your lane, and what configuration we'd propose.

  • The camera's view of the lane, including approach angle and distance.

  • Lighting conditions at the lane, day and night.

  • The lane's layout and how vehicles queue or pass through it.

  • Connectivity available to the camera's location.

WHERE THE MATCH COMES FROM

Recognition relies on
your vehicle records.

A recognised plate is only useful if it's checked against up-to-date vehicle records for your property. Keeping those records current is part of getting value from this setup.

  • Vehicle records live in the PropKita platform.

  • Recognition checks against those records at the lane.

  • Keeping records current supports accurate matching.

CONNECTING TO WHAT YOU HAVE

Existing barriers and
an honest compatibility check.

If you already have a barrier or gate system, connecting it to number-plate access is assessed rather than assumed to work out of the box.

  • Tell us about your existing barrier or gate.

  • We review compatibility with your setup.

  • Installation and service scope follow, once confirmed.

Installation and service scope

Where number-plate access is confirmed for your project, installation and ongoing service are handled by our team alongside the rest of your equipment.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.

Does number-plate recognition work for every plate and vehicle?

No system recognises every plate under every condition, and we don't claim universal recognition here. Camera view, lighting and lane layout all affect performance, which is why we assess your site before proposing a setup.

What accuracy can we expect?

We don't publish a fixed accuracy figure, because real-world performance depends heavily on your site conditions. We can discuss what's realistic for your lane once we've reviewed it.

Is number-plate access available for every property?

Current supply and supported configurations depend on the project. Share your site details through a quote request and we'll confirm whether it's a fit.

How does this relate to our vehicle records?

Number-plate access checks against the vehicle records held for your property. See our Vehicle management feature page for how those records are maintained.

Can this work with our existing barrier?

It's assessed case by case. Share your existing barrier and control equipment through an integration request and we'll review compatibility.
